Our Mission

The Cycle of Peace is a national initiative intended to raise awareness about Youth Violence, Obesity and Critical Thinking Awareness. Having witnessed breakthrough moments and very sad situations within lesser-resourced communities, this project serves as a call to action and an invocation for healing within our communities. When asked “Why cycle?” The answer is quite simple; Our lives consist of many cycles and I thought what better way to initiate the change I seek in the world than to literally cycle it out!! Having been in Chicago for 6 years I have had many wonderful times, yet the one element my soul cannot reconcile, is the tremendous level of youth violence, lack of proper nutrition and an apathetic attitude to it all that adults and youth consistently reflect.

The Initiative

The Vision of the Cycle of Peace Resuscitated (CPR) Foundation is to cultivate the leadership potential in young men. The CPR Foundation uses evidence-based principles which combine mind, body, and soul to achieve optimal wellness. This program is unique because we use a social-emotional learning approach that combines cycling, male mentorship, and fatherhood to transform boys into men.

Three programs fulfill the mission of the organization:
  • CPR Rites of Passage
  • CPR Fatherhood
  • CPR Spin Class
The CPR, is a partnership composed of DimeChild Foundation, Impact America, Brainchild Creative Network, Gary Comer Middle School, Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League, Chicago Public Schools, Master Force, Inc. and Nicoh David. Since his initial cycling trek, a host of other supporting organizations have come on board, including I.M.A.N., Bridgeport Art Center, AstroTonic Productions, Stephen St. James Design, St. Jude Research Hospital, Body by ViSalus, Good Gyrrl Fitness, and 53rd Street Cycle, to name a few.

The KIDS
are Our
FUTURE!

Lets LEAD the youth back to safety!

We are inspiring change in the urban communities. Bringing those who are willing to help together for the greater good is what we strive for. Our focus is leading urban children, mainly young boys, on a better path to be more productive in their community, instead of destructive. Once they see the veterans and neighborhood civilians get active, actually be an example and be the guidance most kids dont have growing up, it will be enough to spark the change. Its starts with us, now.

Male & Youth Mentorship

"Peace, When I think about the cycle of peace I think about three areas of focus that we have, which is: mentorship, healthy lifestyle, and philanthropy. As I reflect on those three areas that we focus our energy and effort into, you know, it immediately correlates at the physical, spiritual, and mental level of development that I feel like we should all strive to attain so we can find a balance and find a power within ourselves. So I thought about it... the mentorship element relates directly to the mental area of development as far as what we are teaching our kids and their peers, what are we teaching our youth? Now, when you think about the healthy lifestyle elements you think about the physical aspect, and you think about what you are doing to condition the physical body for this life, it's important that we all eat healthy and give our bodies what it needs to endure. Lastly, the spiritual element, I think really correlates to philanthropy. You know, one of the great things about philanthropy is, when you give, it makes you feel good you know? The act of giving should come from the spirit and soul."
